I provide individual flatwork and showjumping lessons at Paddocksland Farm and I also organise other Showjumping, Cross country and Arena Eventing clinics at various other venues.

I am a British Eventing UKCC Level 3 Accredited Coach with 30 years experience producing young horses from novice to advanced eventing.

My coaching philosophy is to empower the rider to be able to work independently and to assist them in their pursuit to obtain their goals by identifying their individual training needs whilst taking into consideration riders and horses realistic commitment and ability.

I aim to create a harmonious partnership by ensuring that firm foundations are in place throughout the stages of training.

I enjoy helping enthusiastic riders, who want to develop the partnership between themselves and their horse, catering for all ages and levels.  I have facilities at Paddocksland for dressage and jumping and run regular cross country clinics in the local area. I can also travel to you.

Dressage/flatwork Training

My aim is to:

  • Create a harmonious relationship between horse and rider through consistent and progressive training.

  • Develop the rider’s position so that they can use independent seat, leg and hand aids.

  • Use various exercises to enable the rider to work effectively by themselves.

  • Use the Scales of Training; rhythm, suppleness, contact, impulsion and straightness. Ultimately develop self-carriage and collection.

  • Improve dressage scores.

  • Improve rider's jumping position and ability to use effective aids.

  • Develop Rhythm, balance, straightness.

  • Introduce useful flatwork and pole work exercises for jumping.
